Edit: Did a quick bit of googling. The original post seems to come from a satirical website.

I know they tried to do a reboot movie a year or a few ago.  Genndy Tartakovsky was attached.  And although I'm a big fan of his work (His series Primal is amazing).  I don't know if he would have been the right fit for the character.
