Alien is remastered and in theaters in the US on Friday.  Whole family is going :)

I hope you have a great time with them. Awesome movie.

I saw it on the big screen (supposedly) remastered during the 25th anniversary tour. I don't know how many times they can remaster it or how much better it can look, but I'm not complaining about more people getting a chance to see it in a theater. Truly a classic and a masterpiece... only improves with age.

No idea if it was remastered, but I saw Alien in 1992 on the big screen when Alien 3 was released. Either way, it is worth watching on the big screen, remastered or not.
Is it October yet?

Did you manage to catch one of the screenings of all three movies?

Unfortunately they never made a sequel to Aliens.

I've heard people talk about it, but they are just suffering from delusions, waking bad dreams -- horrible nightmares that they thought were real film!

I only pity them.  They keep talking about a....  Just staggeringly dog s**t movie in which Hicks and Newt die during the opening credits, Ripley runs around hairless and dies in this awfully bad-cheesy crucifixion image....   They rant about bad editing, like a 2 hour music video made movie.... No compelling characters.    I think they said Bishop bites it in the opening credits too.

Some of them (during their delusional film-watching)  literally flipped the bird at the screen and said OH GO f**k YOURSELF !!!!  during those opening credits as Newt and Hicks died, and they realized that instead of getting a worthy successor to Cameron's Aliens, they were getting multiply re-written absolute dog s**t.   These same people say that Alien:  Resurrection was in ways even worse-written, though.   I have no idea what their basis for comparison is.

Don't know what's wrong with these people, I wish I could help them.

Thank goodness no such movie exists!!

Don't hit me- but I have never seen it!!!  :bluesad:
Not that I think it's not worth seeing- I just never got the chance!

Zapranoth - an old friend of mine who usually had pretty good taste would swear up and down that ALIEN CUBED was not only his favorite ALIEN movie but also his favorite Fincher film. I haven't talked to him in a long while and indeed, perhaps his delirium was progressive and eventually rendered him an invalid.

Nope, but I saw Aliens and The Fly (1986) as a double feature at the theater.
