repping the South African entries I see  :teddyr:  ...just looked it up, there's an unofficial part 3, from Hong Kong! let's say that doesn't count

There are actually three sequels and the company which made the first two Gods films sued the 💩 out of the Chinese knockoff filmmakers for making those turgid and unlawful sequels.

CRAZY SAFARI
CRAZY HONG KONG
THE GODS MUST BE FUNNY IN CHINA

The owner of Mimosa Films told me that he considered those three knockoffs  to be little short of treason😳

I like the first one, not sure what the point of a belated sequel with Dolph Lubdgren in Arnie's role is

Didn't even know that existed!  Terrible idea.

On a similar theme:

Screamers (1995)
Screamers: The Hunting (2009)

I quite like the first one - Peter Weller is a great actor.  I haven't seen the sequel because he's not in it for one thing.

sequels that don't retain the core original cast members are usually pretty redundant, or just clutching at straws... like the Macauley Culkin-less HOME ALONE sequels. (although with something like the FRIDAY 13TH sequels it doesn't matter)

I was gonna suggest HONEY I SHRUNK THE KIDS / BLEW UP THE KID, and LOOK WHO'S TALKING / LOOK WHO'S TALKING TOO... did not realise till checking now that they both had more than one sequel...

also just noticed there was a CLERKS 3 recently...

one more that does count:

TRAINSPOTTING / T2 TRAINSPOTTING

I didn't know there was a sequel to THE STING. They should have called it STUNG 😉🐝

there's 4 movies in this franchise -- I tapped out somewhere in the first one when a commanding officer demanded that the characters Will Smith and Martin Lawrence played be called each other/switch identities or something dumb like that

I read that the 2 most recent installments of the franchise are far superior to the original two, but I'm not going to see them

the first one was so dumb that it completely turned me off the Bad Boys movies

There's no connection that links those films whatsoever, that I know of.

The only connection both movies have is the same producer according to wiki.

QuoteThough the film's title and story loosely resemble that of Abel Ferrara's 1992 film Bad Lieutenant, according to Herzog, it is neither a sequel nor a remake; its only commonality is a corrupt policeman as the central character. Nonetheless, the director of the original Bad Lieutenant film, Abel Ferrara, expressed dismay that the Herzog film was being made. Both Bad Lieutenant films were produced by Edward R. Pressman.

IMDb lists a "connection" between both movies without explaining why they are connected.

Is it October yet?
