The GYMKAKA dvd I have is region 1 and the disc says "Made in Mexico". I bought this locally so 🙄😳🥴

I had a NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD dvd - one of those cheap Elstree Hill titles - which was so bad in quality that Duane Jones' name wasn't even  on the cover 😳😳

I own the U.S. Blu-ray of Escape from New York, which has a DVD packaging. It was not a packaging mistake, it was manufactured like that. Not sure what MGM was thinking back then.

Is it October yet?

I bought one of those DVD packs one time that's like 50 movies for $20 dollars or something.  One of the movies was a copy of The Milpitas Monster that cut off about half way through the movie.

Censored for your sanity

During the peak of DVDs, I found a movie called The Mutant Beast in the bargain bin. It turned out to be The Milpitas Monster.

The quality was awful. Drained of color and fine detail, blurry and blotchy. Looked like it was recorded from TV in the late 1970s.

😳😅😅

I bought a very low budget DVD about ten years ago because I liked the title which was GIANT SNAKE 2.

Brought it home, put it on and it was actually Q THE WINGED SERPENT which was banned here back in the day 😳

Censor Board Justification:
Excessive Michael Moriarty.

the DVD I used to have of THE WITCH WHO CAME IN FROM THE SEA had the entire plot including the ending written in great detail on the back cover.

I can't remember what film it is but one DVD I have lists 'menu' and 'exciting action scenes' as the special features  (...and yeah it means scenes which are in the film itself. there is no bonus stuff on the disc. )

The "entire synopsis" thing was not uncommon on some VHS releases that I recall from my early childhood... always thought it was weird. Perhaps consumers wanted to know the ENTIRE story as they were considering their purchase or rental...?!

The "special" features you mention is still rather common on cheapo disks... the kind you see in the Dollar store or sometimes in Wal-Mart. They got nothin' else to rep, so they rep what they got!

guess it's a bit like trailers that basically show the entire film in random order

- there's one bluray I have of an Argento film, (think it might be DEEP RED, if not another early-ish one) where the final scene plays in the background of the menu screen :hatred:  :hatred:  :hatred:

Oh yeah! I've seen that, too. For whom is that intended???

I have a cheapo DVD of the Italian movie TIGER JOE which uses cover art from another movie on the front and actual stills from TIGER JOE on the rear 😳😳

Also, the DVD source seems to be a 16mm print and not a good one at that 😳😳
