claws

A rich, sultry widow (Susan Lucci) who apparently has no hobbies, seduces a hunky but married handyman. Things take a dark turn when the widow develops a "Fatal Attraction" kind of obsession.

"Either you let me love you, or I'm going to kill you!"

Trashy mid-90s TV drama/thriller with a decent dose of cringy erotica.

Dramatic Saxophone muzak? Check.
Ridiculous life choices? Check.
Tacky seduction attempts? Check.
Cheesy domestic tragedies? Check.
Absurd everything? Check.

Probably one of the best of it's kind. Susan Lucci makes this steamy potato sizzle. She's perfect in this.

The full movie can be found on YouTube.

just watched the first 5 mins.... great acting  :bouncegiggle:

never heard of the lead actress... cougar!*

(*first time I have ever said that word in that context, honest)

there are so many variations of these... saw a really crap one with J-Lo in it recently.

Lucci has done tons of TV work in the 80s and 90s. Not sure if you noticed, but they ripped off the Basic Instinct score during the opening credits haha

Susan Lucci was famous for starring on "All My Children" since (I think) the 70s through whenever it ended and being nominated for a Best Actress Daytime Emmy every year and never winning... at least for like goin' on a couple decades. I hope eventually they gave it to her! She looks great in that photo. I confess I don't think I ever watched a single episode of "All My Children" and I've never seen or heard of her starring in ANYTHING else, EXCEPT... of course... for Wes Craven's INVITATION TO HELL!!!

arf, grew up watching CORONATION STREET as my mother was the world's biggest fan. she would literally base her entire plans around not missing an episode

NEIGHBOURS was the one for us kids back then though... Guy Pearce went on to some pretty big things but I can only ever see him as 'Mike'  :bouncegiggle:

Guy Pearce! Wow, had no idea. What a nice-looking clean cut kid. You'd never think he could ignore his long-suffering wife in perpetuity while hunting her nonexistent phantom killers for roffles!

She had her own lingerie line in the 90s and she modeled it too 🥰😍
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

funny you should mention that because my first thought on seeing Susan Lucci when I watched the start of the film on youtube, is that she looks a bit like Rebecca De Mornay

(although in that photo claws posted above, she looks like Andi McDowell? shape shifting lizard alert!)

I've seen The Hand That Rocks the Cradle a few times. It is silly but entertaining, so personally, I probably wouldn't place it in the bad movie category. Then again, I think Point Break (1991) is unintentionally hilarious so, what do I know?  :bouncegiggle:

THTRTC has currently a 66% RT and 6.7 IMDb score/rating, seems like most people who voted like it.

Apparently, Disney/Fox is doing a remake starring Maika Monroe (It Follows) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (The Thing prequel).
