Quote from: HappyGilmore on February 19, 2015, 09:11:31 PMRaul Julia, a fantastic actor, relishing his role in the crappy Street Fighter movie in 1994, because his kids were fans of the video games/cartoons related to Street Fighter, and he wanted to do this for them personally as they were stoked when they heard a film was being made.  He's the best part of the film.

I think it's fair to say Raul Julia is the best part of other films as well.

Perhaps not known as well in the "mainstream," he'd rank as a truly underrated actor in my opinion.
He's vastly underrated.  I only know him from his film work, but I heard he was a fantastic stage actor as well, doing Broadway and the like.  But almost every film I have seen him in, he's stolen it as the breakaway actor in it.

He certainly made The Tempest watchable.

I think MICHAEL CAINE knocked his appearance in BEYOND THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE.  He does get to call SALLY FIELD "monkey" I think... and she hates it.  In the movie.      :bouncegiggle:

JoeTheDestroyer

I wonder how Ruth Gorden felt about doing the Rosemary's Baby sequel. God, it was awful...

And didn't one of the Jason Voorhees actors also trash Friday the 13th? I want to say it was Richard Brooker.

Brooker disliked the way the producers treated some of the girls on the set of Friday 3.  They had a shoot in the lake and they kept the girl out in the boat and water for extended hours and she was wearing skimpy clothing, freezing, and turning blue.  He made them stop shooting for a bit so she could get warmed up, get some soup and tea.

I think that was Ted White on Friday 4...or at least for the same reason. Also wanted to quit because actors had to do their own stunts without proper safety. Even wanted to have his name removed from the credits.

The Fake Macoy

Stallone also hated Rocky 5.  It was one of the reasons he made Rocky Balboa, which ignored Rocky 5.

SynapticBoomstick

Sean Connery straight up quit acting after League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

I think you're right.  Well, Ted White gave that reason.

Thought Brooker did too.

Forest Whitaker regretted being in Battlefield Earth.

Raul was a wonderful Gomez. Had the touch of the dark John Asten didn't, though I still like his Grouchoesque take on the character.

He was perfect in it.  I loved Astin as Gomez, but Raul Julia played it perfectly in the middle.  Dark yet over the top.

~ Jennifer Connelly used to bash her movie Phenomena on talk shows.
You beat me to it Claws! I read that she said that Phenomena was just an excuse to holiday in Italy. I am soooo in love with her, but dissing Argento is blasphemy (well his 70s - early 80s output anyway.)
How about Tom Savini in The Ripper? now THATS something to be ashamed of.
I'm also thinking what what Joe Pantolino (sp?) thought of The Final Terror?
Also Jason Alexander in The Burning. I can't see him praising that one.
You know what? Wouldn't these embarassments be a red flag from the get go? I mean do they read the script or what?
