I wear 9 wide but I'm only 5' 2". My growth process seems to end with my wide feet. And my toenails are real long an thick.

Stop an earthquake in Peru that would kill 10,000 people...

Stop a plane crash in Miami that would kill 100 people....

Or stop the death of your best friend?

Stop an earthquake in Peru. That's the altruistic/utilitarian answer. Best friend is an obvious choice too. I can't imagine anyone picking the middle option (unless maybe they lived in Miami or had friends there). I'd be interested in that reasoning.

Someone who preferred rich people or Americans might pick the air plane crash. I think I'd go with saving Peru. That best friend thing would make it much harder in real life tho.

Just to start on that difficult topic: feelings are emotions, thoughts are neutral. Feelings involve motivations to do or avoid something, thoughts don't. Being afraid of a tiger is a feeling, understanding why a tiger can kill you is a thought.

I think neurologists would explain that they arise in different parts of the brain. Purely from a layman's perspective, feelings come from the limbic system, a primitive part of the brain we share with lower animals. Thoughts originate in the cerebral cortex.
