We had a 90 mph orcan the last few days with plenty of rain.
They are predicting 50F for next week and I'm not too happy about it. Much too mild for winter.

My genes are not made for hot weather and don't fare well in our annual Midwestern heat waves. I actually think winter is my favorite time of year. When I was little I remember one summer across the ocean waking up to frost on the ground and kind of liking that. (Cue the Immigrant Song....)

We're in the middle of a rare Texas ice storm.  Downed power lines, broken branches everywhere, and TWO DAYS OFF WORK!!! HUZZAH!

So hundreds of thousands are without electricity, millions are snowed-in, roads are closed, airports, tattoo parlors, and you know what I keep thinking? Imagine the screams like unto the damned in Hades if this winter storm had come a week later during Super Bowl Sunday?  (What? Of course I'm not laughing, duh.)

Snowed in for three days.  Haven't had mail or trash service and got three days off work.  I hung around outside enjoying the cold and snow for a bit today, it was really nice and quiet and made me homesick for my home state, Michigan.  It'll probably be mostly melted on Sunday - supposed to hit 40 F here.  My nephews got to go sledding, which is nice.  You don't get many sledding days here.

I think this may be the last day of winter here (at least, the rough part of winter.)  Today's high is supposed to be 39, but after that, nothing lower than 40 with a lot of 50s and even 60s predicted through the rest of February. I am ready to not be cold for a change.
