Although it rates low on most people's grossness scale and doesn't compare to slurping down the raw contents of pig intestines like the Comanche did, and considered a delicacy, beets are the only food I've ever eaten that instantly made me wretch. Even the smell can make me gag. At Smoothie King a couple summers ago I got a smoothie that I didn't know had beet powder in it and upon the first sip I almost threw up in my car (which my youngest found hilarious).

Of course my slightly nuts ever-reliable friend Mitch, the "channel medium" says this revulsion relates to a past life spent in near starvation conditions when we had nothing to eat but a small quantity of beets, and that my cellular memory rejects beets to this day because it reminds me of those hard times. So there you go, that's definitely 100% why.

I used to like liver as a kid but now, no.

My stepmother used to make us Liverwurst sandwiches with mayo on white bread. In the middle of the summer. I think she was trying to kill us. Even Inky, my dog, wouldn't eat it.

Probably Russian cake; it's cake pieces mixed with licorice liqueur. Absolutely vile.

There's a saying here in Germany: Hollandaise makes everything better. German schnitzel with fries and hollandaise? Amazing combo.

pimento cheese, head cheese, tripe, seafood of any kind and sweetmeats of any kind. oh, and condiments that aren't gravy. all are disgusting, and the same goes for sausage of any kind, mushrooms , onions, bell peppers and moldy cheeses. i'm picky, and i like it that way.
