The Worst VHS Cover Artwork!

See, thats the phucking shame of all these dvds of old movies coming out. They think the original artwork is to outdated or something so they just slap together some lame photoshoped mess that has NOTHING to do wih the movie.

What really bugs me about it is the artwork is usually no more dated than the movie inside. The original artwork is going to appeal MORE to someone who will actually want the movie. Rather than please the people who like it, they'd rather p**s off people who thought they were buying something else. And that Class of 1999 cover goes way beyond the normal BS. It's just plain fraud, as far as I'm concerned. There is no reason for a design like that, except to misrepresent the movie and trick people into buying it.

What?  Some guy is walking down a road, approaching 2 giant women, armed with a knife.  All the women have to do is squish him with a fist.  End of movie.



I think the lunatic(s) in question designed the art here!  The hell.. a couple standing on a brain?  With spiders on it?  And a flying telephone..?  God help me!!!

The knife isn't so silly. I think it's a natural reaction to defend yourself when giant women suddenly emerge from a spatial rift in front of you. I mean, maybe he was driving on that road and almost crashed into them. He's scared sh!tless but full of road rage, so he grabs something sharp from the glove box and goes to give them hell. "Hey, you crazy broads! Get your dimensional gateway out of the damn road! Some of us have to get to work!"

Yeah, it's a good cover. I just find the proportions and the forced perspective to be a bit out of whack.

Yeah, it looks like his jaw should drop down about a foot, and a super-long tongue should roll out with the Python members' names on it, like the opening credits for one of their movies.  Then a giant foot would squish him.
