Yes... My old favorites are God of Emptiness and Rapture.

No... I did not even know they had a new album out, I'll check it out though. Cool.

Fun fact. This song was in the movie Night of the Demons 2. (Angela's stage dance)

BTW. That youtube you have up is not Morbid Angel. (listen to it and read the comments)

EDIT. OMG! Yes it IS. I really hate it. What the HELL were they thinking?

That honestly the best reaction iv'e seen to the album.  :bouncegiggle: Its hard to believe its the same band that made classic death metal like Altar of madness and Covenant.

RIP MORBID ANGEL 1989-2011

I really like some of their earlier stuff with David Vincent. As for the rest, I'm sure I'm not missing too much.

Oh this new album is the first one to have David Vincent since Domination. Not that it helps anything.

That first video sounds like something from Sesame Street!

Wow. I'm a big time death metal fan, and I used to really like Morbid Angel. But this is the first time I've heard this newer material, and, no sir, I just do NOT care for it. There's an industrial influence there that turns me off completely. Outside of a handful of groups (Throbbing Gristle, latter-day Gary Numan, Ministry, Skinny Puppy, and very little else), I've never much cared for industrial, techno, or electronica, and when it seeps into the genres I do like, like death metal, it just makes me feel like a got a big ol' whiff of a nasty fart. Honestly, I stayed at Morbid Angel's for a long time, but Heretic was my breaking point. I didn't much care for that, so, yeah, I think I'm going to have to say that Heretic is where I ultimately draw the line. Blech!

^ What did you expect?  :bouncegiggle:

The collectors edition for this thing is ridiculous.

Yep you get candles and incenses with it.

and just to put it to scale

Its a shame its such a awful album.

Psycho Circus

Oh that's just ridiculous! All that for an album by a death metal band! I'm not even going to ask the price...

Just wanted to say as well, is that even though I've never been into death metal, since this thread popped up I've become quite the Morbid Angel fan. I had heard of the band years ago but it is only in the past two weeks that I've gone and purchased anything by them. I bought the band's first four albums and they are fantastic, way better than any other death metal I've ever heard in the past. MB are about as extreme as I'm willing to go though.

Cheers Criswell!  :drink:

:bouncegiggle: Yeah, just my luck. Coming back to the new record though, did anyone actually read/hear what David Vincent said about it? I'll post his comments, they are quite laughable:

"We made a masterpiece," Vincent boldly declared. "I am going to call it that. There is not one bad track on this record. Of course I am going to say that, but I don't normally say such things. It is very unique and very diverse. We didn't go through the normal channels with production, so it's that's much more special because of the decisions we made."

^ I really can't believe that the band thought they were making something good. Okay I was skeptical when I saw the generic album artwork, Then when I saw the song titles I thought to myself, "Okay they're playing a joke on us". Then finally I heard the music and...well It was awful.
