Because those are two very different lists for me

welcome to the board

as Alex stated at the start of the thread:

QuoteI don't mean ones that are so bad they are good, I mean ones you get absolutely no enjoyment from.
Quotethe movie was cringe, corny, cheesy and "what the biscuits" is with this atrocious acting and childish corny thing of a movie???

I can understand not liking almost all the ones on that list (with the exception of Excalibur) even if I don't agree with them all. Welcome to the forum and may you find many bad movies that you do enjoy here. Just out of curiosity, what is it you don't like about Excalibur?

my list consists of movies that I loathe
Kubrick, Nolan, Tarantino, Wan, Iñárritu, Scorsese, Chaplin, Abrams, Wes Anderson, Gilliam, Kurosawa, Villeneuve - the elite

There are some interesting choices on that list and I'm eager to read Ripley's rationale. (Welcome, Ripley.) EXCALIBUR is one, however, that didn't throw me... Boorman's films all go their own distinct ways and thus aren't perhaps all for universal tastes. I loooooooved EXCALIBUR as a kid, then watched it in my mid-to-late 20s and was... disappointed? But I've been thinking I need to revisit it again. There's a lot of movie there.

I really don't care for Arthurian stuff in general (the two major exceptions being Lancelot Du Lac and thanks to childhood nostalgia, Monty Python and The Holy Grail) and there's just something about Excalibur in particular that is particularly off-putting to me.

It's hard to explain
