I've heard jazz I liked, some I liked a lot, but I rarely listen to it. My grandpa had a friend named Oscar Treadwell (O.T.) who was apparently somehow famous in the jazz world but not as a musician.... through decades in radio, I think, and when I was a kid and happened to be at Grandpa's house when O.T. was there, O.T. gave me some recordings because he said he didn't think jazz was reaching enough of the younger generation for it to be appreciated. One of the albums was Kinda Blue, by Miles Davis, one was by someone called Gerry Mulligan, and another was an anthology of a type of jazz called "bop" which I admit I know nothing whatsoever about. Maybe I should explore jazz someday.

I said I quit drinking. I lied. I still drink. When I said it, it was true. Didn't last long. I smoke pot every other day. I get it free from my friend who grows for a dispensry- so yeah.

Never tried pot.
Sampled alcohol a handful of times in my life; don't like it at all.

^ More power to ya.
I drink because my brain is f**ked and it was something everybody did in the 60's and 70's. In my family, and the old farmers I knew. I worked for farmers, and I would drink moonshine wine. I didn't smoke as much pot as I drank.
I also sold LSD at a biker bar, did coke and mushrooms. Not no more. It's been decades. I still smoke pot and drink.

I drink, and did some pot as a teenager.

No. Even if I wanted to the structure of my life wouldn't allow me the luxury of the time to be incapacitated, and I wouldn't want my children to see me in that state. For me it'd be a selfish thing to do and would also create an exploitable weakness.

I drink a lot, but I haven't been drunk in years. I've fine-tuned my alcohol drinking to where I can reach the point of being pleasantly tipsy and then quit for the night. No stupidity, no hangovers.

Pot is illegal in my state. If it was legal I would smoke about once or twice per month.

I love Jazz. Stan Getz, Billie Holiday, Sun Ra, the Jazzual Suspects- all sortsa stuff.

I like some jazz artists: ones I heard in my younger years like The Crusaders, Ronny Jordan, Herb Alpert and SA's own Hugh Masekela who I was privileged to meet in 2017.  Smile

Unfortunately I never listened, and after thirty-three years I don't still have it.

Do you drink alchohol? Or smoke pot?

No. Tried both in younger years but they never did anything good for ne to do more.

I was 16 when I smoked pot the first time. My mom bought some out of curiosity while we were on vacation in Morocco. We didn't feel anything except for a burning sensation in the throat and a bit of coughing. My mom said afterwards 'what a waste of money*.

Tried it a second time when I was 23. I was invited by Iranian asylum seekers I had befriended. This time it made me puke, and afterwards I had several giggle fits. It was funny for the moment but later I thought how silly and pointless this was. Anyway, that was the last time I did pot.

I was part of our town's drug scene but only as a "bystander". Most of my friends smoked drugs and I would usually just tag along. Since German drug laws are strict nobody openly admitted smoking pot, and everything was done super secretly.

My dad was an alcoholic and my mom had random drinking phases. Both set a good example not to drink. Besides that I never developed a taste for beer in general. Alcohol just tastes awful to me. I was dead drunk three times in my life and after the third time I said "no more".

With that said, I am a social drinker but never more than one glass of alcohol. During summer I do enjoy what Germans call Radler, which is 50% beer and 50% sparkling lemonade mixed together. However, I mix my Radler with 30% beer and 70% lemonade  TeddyR That's the only way I can drink beer.

Throwing up on pot is extremely rare (except when mixed with lots of alcohol). It's usually used to reduce nausea and makes people hungry! You probably just have an unfortunate allergy type of reaction---or the pot was laced with something else.

I love radler, but last time I drank it I added a shot of gin to beef it up.

Well, I think they showed me the 'proper' way how to smoke pot? They told me to inhale and keep it in my lungs for some time before exhaling. We didn't do it like that in Morocco.

They also said puking is a 'normal' reaction the first time when doing pot the 'right' way for the first time. No idea if that is true. I did have a craving for sweets, forgot to mention that in my post.
