wouldn't say the FINAL DESTINATION movies are classics, but it's the only horror franchise of the 2000s that I've liked enough to watch every installment so far... I guess there's an outside chance this could live up to the rest.

not gonna watch the trailer as I find they always give too much away, but it's here if anyone's interested...

it's the final film of Tony Todd before he died.

...wasn't 'BLOODLINES'  already the sub-title of a different horror sequel?

edit - nearly... HELLRAISER: BLOODLINE (1996)

There was also a Castlevania sequel called Bloodlines.

hmm... 1994. got there first?

for some reason I thought that was a Mickey Mouse based game series... just watched a youtube vid of someone playing it, must be thinking of something else

You're thinking of Mickey Mouse Castle of Illusion.

oh cool... yeah must be. (never played it however)

watched this a couple of days ago...

wow, CGI gore is out of control

it's not that it doesn't even look reasistic. it's just so blunt and passionless and in your face, and so 'un-organic', that it completely takes me out of the film.

maybe that's just how they're utilising it? it's very video-game like

also the film never settled into any kind of rhythm, it's like the cinema equivalent of a free jazz drum solo on acid. too much everything, not enough something. (or something?)

worst of the series by far.

Hmm... I liked it. Mainly because of the opening scene, which had great over-the-top suspense. Never saw another entry in the series.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

seen all of them, and compared to the others the opening sequence in this one seemed strangely jokey and almost like a parody. yeah it was ott, tone-wise

anyway glad you enjoyed.

Haven't seen this one yet, but intend to soon.

I've liked the series overall so far. Seemed to hit streaming pretty fast. Don't know if that's a good or bad thing.
"The path to Heaven runs through miles of clouded Hell.

I love lamp.

It did its business @ the Box Office (and did well), and there appears to be no break anymore between "theatrical run" and "streaming/physical media release". The US is finally catching up to Japan, where films play 1 week for the most part and then immediately go to Blu-Ray.

I'm w/ the Rev here, I liked BLOODLINES quite a bit - thought it was the best of the series, probably - but I've liked all the FDs I've watched. The major difference I sensed was that the previous films seem very light/frivolous, almost to the point of feeling foolish - though pleasantly so. BLOODLINES has a real dark/mean streak, like beyond the previous films... though, I mean, the entire premise of the series is inescapably bleak, so what's the sense in pretending otherwise?

actually my fav of the series is part 4 (the 3D one? opening sequence is at the racecar track) and yes that is probably the most 'lighthearted' for want of a better word... although it is also the most gory "15" certificate movie I've ever seen!

I thought the first one was the most downbeat / sombre iirc

Enjoyed Bloodlines quite a bit. Best of the sequels so far in my opinion. My Final Destination ranking:

1. Final Destination (2000) 3.5 (Very Good)
2. Final Destination: Bloodlines (2025) 3.5 (Very Good)
3. Final Destination 2 (2003) 3.0 (Good)
4. Final Destination 5 (2011) 2.5 (Flawed but Worthy)
5. Final Destination 3 (2006) 2.5 (Flawed but Worthy)
6. The Final Destination (3-D) (2009) 2.0 (Fair)

Is it October yet?
