Facebook.

I hear ya. Just last week I almost deleted my FB account.

On a sidenote, I noticed quite a few people here have issues with Facebook, yet the same people post in "Random Thoughts" and "What Are You Doing Now" which is basically what most people post at Facebook  TongueOut

I've metnioned this before in some form but I'll expand upon it.  I can't stand what certain stores are doing lately in their ad circulars.  The whole you have to buy 2 bags of a certain candy for $3 HOWEVER they give you a $1 off coupon on your next purchase so to them "it's like" getting it 2/$2.  BULLs**t!  I'm still paying $3 at this current purchase so it isn't "like" that at all!

Then I also notice in order to get a sale price, you have to buy a certain number of something.  For example, I can pay $2.49 for a pack of Twizlers OR "save" when I buy 3/$4.  Frig you stores!!!!!!!  Hatred Thumbdown  Why am I going to keep 3 large packs of Twizlers on hand in my house?  I just want to buy one pack for the time being, give me the damn discount!

I should point out the above scheme is undoubtedly adding to the obesity problem in the world.

Reminds me of the combos they offer at theatre concessions. I have yet to see a combo of just popcorn and drink. They always throw in some kind of candy. I don't get out to the movies very often, but it used to bug me when I would order a popcorn and drink, and they would push the combo at me (sometimes very insistently) as if it were a better deal. It would be a better deal than a popcorn, drink and chocolate bar purchased separately, but it does cost more than what I want. How is that saving money? How is it an advantage to me to save a little money on an extra purchase I don't want?

Okay, that's a big WTF!  Buggedout

Cthulu is a fictitious creation of H. P. Lovecraft. I'm definitely interested in seeing the article, however. I've tried to find it and can't. Are you making this up, Circus?

That's funny. Well, the Kraken is a part of Nordic mythology, which is why I've always thought it funny that it shows up in a movie about Greek mythology.  Lookingup

But seriously, I've read before that the Kraken was associated with a tentacled sea monster by the Norse people. And I think I read that the mythic legen may have arose out of collosal squid that did exist at one time. They seldom came to surface, but there are historical records that indicate it did happen occasionally and they even attacked ships. This would certainly be a fantastic thing to happen, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if such a thing got worked into mythology. Humans are known to embellish. It's part of the human condition. It's perfectly plausible that a few giant squid attacks of ships, which is terrifying enough by itself, would get embellished even further into a mythical creature even greater and more terrifying.

Surely Fox News found some factual flaw in the story and removed it until further research and corrections can be made. They after all are real sticklers for truth and accuracy....

Look at the Megalodon for instance. Many people find modern sharks to be huge, frightening creatures and exaggerate their proportions in stories about attacks and being stranded in the sea. Megalodon's did exist, and the thought of even one of those swimming around the ocean is truly terrifying!

Apologies for thread derailment. Back to all the gear grinding!  Smile
