For about the first hour of this film I really didn't care for it.
Partially it's because I don't like awkward high-school movies, and the other part is that I've seen the troubled person gains super-powers that corrupt a few too many times. This movie is
Akira without all the flash.
However, the finale of the film makes up for all that. The movie actually makes very inventive use of the ubiquitous cameras in our world. When the superpowers start flying, they aren't just the camcorder the main character conveniently carries.
This movie does really rip off
Akira for all it's major ideas. But the last thirty minutes are a heck-load of fun.
