 "Basie on the Beatles" by Count Basie & His Orchestra - desperate move by an over-the-hill Basie; most of the arrangements are the worst kind of elevator music, but the uptempo take on "Norwegian Wood" is actually a swinging classic  "Taking the Soul for a Walk" by The Dafnis Prieto Sextet - all original compositions, may well be my favorite new jazz album from 2008 |

"Basie on the Beatles" by Count Basie & His Orchestra Listened to it again and I have to say that "Come Together" was pretty good as well. That makes two little golden nuggets in a sea of crap. I hate albums like that. |
