When talking about movie villains, its usually the males that come to mind. Yet, some of the most intriguing and evil characters in movie history have been female. In terms of any films-bad, good, or otherwise-what would your list for the top ten female villans of all time be? (If you need help coming up with ideas, check out this site: http://www.movievillains.com/

My List:

Helena Markos (Suspiria): Evil witch who can cause death with a mere glance; according to actress Jessica Harper, the woman who played Markos was in real life over a hundred and a prostitute

Angela (Sleepaway Camp 2&3, as 1 doesn't really count, if you think about it): Cheerfully happy camper who cheerfully mutilates and murders with whatever tools are at her disposal

Princess Mombi (Return to Oz): Vain and ill-tempered witch with a total of 31 heads

Pamela Voorhees (Friday the 13th): Avenges her son against the kind of drunken horny teens who let him die

Zeneba (Spirited Away): Japanese soceress with a mammoth head and an equally mammoth temper

Henrietta (Evil Dead 2): Little more than a twisted bag of demon-posessed flesh, "I'll swallow your soul........"

Baby Jane Hudson (Whatever happened to Baby Jane?): Former child star obcessed with reclaiming her past glory; Keeps her invalid sister hostage and feeds her dead animals

Elizabeth Bathory (Countess Dracula): Vain aristocrat who murders as many as 650 young virgins, in order to bathe in their blood and restore her youth

Miss Leech (Puppet Master series): Nasty puppet with a very nasty ability; a true feminist, she hates and will destroy dolls more effeminate than herself

Wicked Witch of the West (The Wizard of Oz): How could she not get included here?

Some personal favorite evil ladies:

Freaks - Cleo (Olga Baclanova)
"Filthy, slimy FREAKS! You make me want to puke!"

The Wizard of Oz - Wicked Witch of the West (Margret Hamilton)
"...and your little dog, too!"

Rebecca - Mrs. Danvers (Judith Anderson)
"Why don't you? It's so easy. Why don't you?"

Leave Her to Heaven - Ellen (Gene Tierney)
You haven't seen evil soap opera melodrama until you see this one.
She tries to seduce her daddy; watches calmly over her sunglasses as a young crippled boy drowns;
throws herself downstairs (after carefully selecting the proper shoes) to induce a miscarriage.

The Bad Seed - Rhoda Penmark (Patty McCormack)
"What would you give me for a basket of kisses?"

101 Dalmatians - Cruella DeVille
Puppy coat. 'Nuff said.

The Manchurian Candidate - Mrs. Iselin (Angela Lansbury)
Lansbury's performance still gives me the creeps.

The Honeymoon Killers - Martha Beck (Shirley Stoler)
Required veiwing.

(Added in edit!)
Desperate Living - Queen Ida (Edith Massey)
Not only does she have pictures of Hitler, Charles Manson, and Idi Amin on her walls but she injects her daughter with rabies.

Aliens - Queen
What a b*tch!

Misery - Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates)
The hobbling scene!

Special Honorable Mention:
Babs Johnson (Divine) in Pink Flamingos

I agree with Raffine about Ellen (Gene Tierney) in "Leave Her to Heaven" (1945) Probably the coldest b***h ever to grace the big screen.

On the other hand, probably the hottest and most sadistic b***h ever to grace the screen is Lady Sylvia Marsh (Amanda Donohoe) in "Lair of the White Worm" (1988) Look at what she did to that boy scout, before she killed him.

I also agree with Raffine about Rhonda Penmark (Patty McCormack) "Bad Seed" (1956)

But, here is one that is even worst. Mary Tilford (Bonita Granville) "These Three" (1936)

I also agree with Fausto about Countess Elisabeth (Ingrid Pitt) "Countess Dracula" (1971)

Also Lady Macbeth (Francesca Annis) "Macbeth" (1971) I can see her telling her man, if you don't kill the old king and make me the new queen, you're sleeping on the couch tonight and every night thereafter.

Jeanne Clayton (Joan Collins) "Tales from Crypt" (1972) The only woman in a gang of men.

Juliana (Hazel Court) "The Masque of the Red Death" (1964) The distaff side of one of Vincent Price's worst/best characters, Prince Prospero. And any woman that deliberately brands herself has issues.

Carla Hoffman (Barbara Shelley) "The Gorgon" (1964) She turns men's hearts into stone. And the rest of them, as well.

And Anna Franklyn (Jacqueline Pierce) "The Reptile" (1966)
