This is a very cheap, very dumb 1960s sci-fi flick.  It should only be viewed after 11:00 p.m., preferably as part of a double feature with any equally dumb 60s sci-fi slick you can get your hands on.

The plot is very similar to IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE and the 70s TV movie NIGHT SLAVES.  Aliens take over the minds of humans and use them as slaves to help repair a space ship that has crashed on the moon.  Scientist Robert Hutton is immune because of a metal plate in his skull.  He puts a basket-like metal helmet on one of his colleagues who also becomes immune!

The dialogue and special effects (including rockets that are obviously plastic models) are terrible.  So is the alien make-up - - it looks like the actors were whacked in the face with white powder.

Michael Gough turns in a super campy performance as the alien leader (who calls himself The Master of the Moon).  His scenes at the end of the movie will surely make you chuckle.

* * SPOILER ALERT * *

To make matters worse, the ending goes something like this:

Robert Hutton: "All you needed to do was ask and we would have helped you."

Michael Gough:  "Really?"

And they shake hands.

THE END

So that's where Stephen King got that idea for The Tommyknockers.

The version I have is in Mill Creek's SCI-FI CLASSICS 50 Movie Pack.  On a "per movie" basis, I think I paid about 30 cents for this movie.
