I recognize he is an important, worthwhile artist from the first class of Rock 'n' Rollers... I still don't like him or his music.

There's so much here to enjoy, so again:
Time Life GOLDEN AGE OF COUNTRY

Where'd you find that anyway? Online, store?  I'd actually be kinda interested in it, personally.  I like a bit of the artists mentioned.

Nevermind...just answered my own question.  I never read where you got it..just the artists mentioned.  Good catch though.

A Night at the Opera - Queen

Original Masters - Jethro Tull

Octopus - Gentle Giant

Hall of the Mountain Grill - Hawkwind

A 1950s Rock and Roll Collection

All on CD

I love the music I have, but I'm dying for some more music. I would really like to get some more of Gentle Giant, Hawkwind, Jethro Tull, Queen, and Electric Light Orchestra. This would be in addition to some some stuff I have not heard before. I don't have sound on my current computer. This makes it very hard to research music I have just become interested in. Although, I'm currently saving money and not buying music anyway.

Free download saturday brings me another Amazon sampler.  This one is jazz, most of it a little too mainstream/R&Bish for my tastes, but there is a very cool cabaret/tango style tribute to Stephane Grappeli from an outfit called "Hot Club of Detroit." http://www.amazon.com/Mack-Avenue-Road-Great-Music/dp/B003ITQKLI/ref=amb_link_353036002_5?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=right-1&pf_rd_r=10RJ24PPYN3MGWM6KP9A&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1262414762&pf_rd_i=702586011

Since I started with the Passacaglia (as I usually do) I ended up skipping the best-known Toccata & Fuge... But the REV knows that E. POWER BIGGS is worth owning.   Thumbup

Yeh no speakers is a bummer; though I too listen to CDs (and upload them - but I used to buy JETHRO TULL on vinyl...  Twirling) and don't really do downloads.  I've always searched, and researched, artists of interest, so in the old days became a record collector (though I thought of myself as a music collector...)  My point?  I always bought records to listen to them, and very often used records.  Now, more and more, I'm buying used CDs because the deals are great!  Ebay, Amazon all sell used CDs at bargain prices (on Amazon, look on the far right side of the item page for a small link to "used" I've bought a lot of out-of-print and used CDs thru Amazon, but also in-print and currently available); I also got a $130 collection of Country CDs for about half thru an ebay auction! Thumbup Wink  Why pay retail?  Thumbup   Wink I do pay for hard to find, large sets (which I can usually pass on - it was my Country music that was neglected!!)  But, $1 CDs at yardsales can't be beat, or a $15 CD for $5...  TeddyR
