I went with W.A.S.P., I had to. It's the meanest, dirtiest song on there and W.A.S.P. pretty much became the main target for the PMRC. Blackie Lawless isn't a stupid guy, he knew that it would stir up a hell of a lot of controversy writing a track like that and it worked like a charm. Sadly, W.A.S.P.'s career has pretty much been hampered by that song and their early stage theatrics, when they went onto do more serious and varied music toward the later 80s. They haven't even played Animal live since 2003...
I don't get the Twisted Sister song either, it's a tongue-in-cheek "rebel against authority" thing, with nothing remotely filthy about it.
The PMRC believed that the lyrics and video for "We're Not Gonna Take It" promoted "violence".
