42. WILD HOGS (2007)

I haven't seen it but I'm betting it's really bad in a not-fun way.

I thought it was fun.

It's a toothless quasi-remake of a (bizarrely serious/straightfaced) early 70s film called PRAY FOR THE WILDCATS starring William Shatner (!), Andy Griffith (!!), Marjoe Gortner, and Robert "Mr. Brady" Reed (!!!) as some combination of Travolta/Macy/Lawrence/Allen. The original is dark and a little violent and unhinged... really kind of DELIVERANCE on motorcycles only no male-on-male rape. (I do believe a lady or ladies get assaulted, however.) I suppose it's possible the WILD HOGS team thought they were making a parody of PFTW but... who in 2007 remembered PRAY FOR THE WILDCATS besides me and Steve Puchalski? Also there's not much "satire" in WILD HOGS... just a lot of mugging and slapstick, really. Travolta vanity project?  Question

Atavista"" by Childish Gambino. Apparently this is a slightly different version of a previous album with a couple of songs replaced with new ones and the rest remixed. Gotta give him credit, this is the first time I've ever heard a psilocybin trip rapped.

Don and Melanie's daughter is braced by three teenager girls: the Latina (underwritten) is a newer character named "Silk" (though she's never referred as this onscreen) who had her own comic for a while a couple years ago; the redhead (also underdeveloped) was the second Spider-Woman for a bit in the late 80s and then much later took on the "Madame Web" name but remained more or less obscure; and the black girl (supremely annoying as written and played) is no one I've ever seen or heard of in a book.
The black girl was a VERY short lived Spider-Woman in the comics, who actually started out pretending to be Spider-MAN when Peter briefly retired.   She's white in the comics.

I don't mind that they made her black, but was she so aggressively insufferable in the comics?

Earth is visited by a GIANT ANTIMATTER SPACE BUZZARD! Gawk at the amazingly bad bird puppet, or chuckle over the silly dialog. This is one of the greatest b-movies ever made.
