1917 - Sam Mendes epic tale of two British soldiers fighting their way across the war-torn landscape of France carrying a message to save two battalions from marching into a deadly German trap has become one of my all-time favorite war movies.   The cinematography and sound track make up for the weakness of the main story, as the entire movie looks like it was filmed in one continuous shot.  5/5, highly recommended!

I thought this was just something I made up for the Make Up a Bad Movie Title topic.  Apparently it's real.

I'm sorry.

Delusion (1981)

Mostly forgotten, Delusion was picked up for distribution by Samuel Goldwyn and at first not necessarily advertised as a "slasher" rather a psychological drama mystery. It was later re-released theatrically with a more straight forward horror themed poster art, and at some point it received a title change in some markets as The House Where Death Lives. They went back to the original title Delusion for its home video debut.

I have really forgotten about this movie until I read that Vinegar Syndrome just released this to Blu-ray. Their review is pretty much spot on from what I remember. It is an extreme slow burner and for the most part doesn't feel like horror or a slasher at all. The makers were obviously trying a different approach, or maybe they didn't even had a slasher in mind when they made Delusion. The acting is fine, but the film is still not that good. Not your typical slasher flick. I'd like to rewatch this again, though.

This is how I would rank the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise:

Good Freddy

1. A Nightmare on Elm Street 1984 (A-) 5.0
2. A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors 1987 (Great) 4.0
3. New Nightmare 1994 (Very Good) 3.5
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Freddy vs. Jason 2003 (Flawed but Worthy) 2.5
5. A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master 1988 (Flawed but Worthy) 2.5

Bad Freddy

6. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge 1985 (Fair) 2.0
7. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010 (Fair) 2.0
8. A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child 1989 (Barely Sufficient) 1.5
9. Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare 1991 (Poor) 1.0

Internet Elm Street philes are extreme defensive about part 2, calling it the best of the franchise. I just don't see it.

I didn't get it, so I googled.

“Strange is the night where black stars rise, And strange moons circle through the skies, But stranger still is Lost Carcosa”.

The King in Yellow
Book by Robert W. Chambers

I still don't get it  BounceGiggle but that's ok.

He got in to some trouble when it was revealed he was an alcoholic the whole time he made Supersize me, which may have affected his health and therefore the movie's message to some extent.
