No ULTIMATE SPINACH or FIFTY FOOT HOSE or BIG STAR?   TeddyR Don't know TASTE, but BANG almost had a hit:

Recovery by Eminem.  New cd, pretty good.  I've yet to be really disappointed with him.

Homesick by A Day to Remember...A newer metal group.

The Block by New Kids on The Block...from 2008.  All grown up and stuff.

Thanks AHD...had only known of Iggy as an actor and some solo stuff.  But you recommended the Stooges... Wink

Raw Power is quite accessible, but wasn't in 1973... Fun House was equally inaccessible in 1970, and since you like ALICE IN CHAINS, Happy, I know you can handle Fun House.  This is THE STOOGES  hardest, and one of the hardest records ever; their debut is a lot of fun, and worthy, but, dumb compared to the follow up, Fun House. I'm listening to it now:

I've been on a 50's kick lately. I haven't had a music "thing" in awhile and I'm enjoying it. I'm sure it will pass in a mont or so but my iPod has been filling up with the likes of Elvis, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Little Richard, Chuck Barry, Eddie Cochran and the like. There's a certain raw elemental power about early rock and roll.

If it's similar to Alice in Chains, I'm sure I'll like it.  I quite like Raw Power, and it was a re-issue/re-master that came with a bonus live disc called Georgia Peaches, recorded in Atlanta that includes a few other songs.  I have yet to actually listen to that disc, but will in a little bit.

I would not describe THE STOOGES as being anything like ALICE IN CHAINS except to say both bands rock hard
