MORTAL SIN "Mayhemic Destruction"

I'm pretty well versed in classic metal (not to brag or anything), but I haven't heard of these guys. What are they like, Torgo? The cover looks a lot like Sepultura's Bestial Devastation.

Celtic Frost - To Mega Therion

Heaviest album ever? Not stupid heavy like all those so called brutal death metal bands, but doomy HEAVY.

Mortal Sin is an Australian thrash metal band.    The album Mayhemic Destruction was released in 1986 and is widely hailed as as crowning achievement in the world of thrash.  They released a couple more albums after this that weren't nearly as good IMO and have broken up and gotten back together numerous times with varying lineups.

But I highly recommend checking out this album as it's one of my personal favorites of Thrash Metal.

Undeniable by Alvin and The Chipmunks- Brand new album, featuring covers of Journey, Bon Jovi, Bob Marley, Blink 182 and a remake of "The Time Warp" from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

OK, I'm off of Bach and onto something compeletely different...

Brodsky Quartet: Beethoven: The Opus 18 Project (3 discs)

Interesting concept: they asked contemporary composers to create a new composition "reflecting" on one of Beethoven's 6 string quartets from Opus 18, then play the new work side by side with the piece that inspired it.  Wish I could say that the performances/compositions were as good as the idea, but an A for effort.

Sample: Sally Beamish, Opus California (Reflecting on Beethoven, Op. 18/4)
