I know I've probably asked about this movie before, but I just secured a copy off of eBay and can't wait for it to arrive.  Who else has seen the master work of cinema?  Alex Winter's magnum opus...

I really like this movie.  Just think it's funny, that's all.

You may be interested in this.  I hold in my hands the novelization of the movie FREAKED.  It was written by Todd Strasser, who has also written the novelizations for HOME ALONE 2 and THE SUPER MARIO BROTHERS.

From the moment I picked up this book until I put it down, I was convulsed with laugher.  Someday I may actually read it.

Alex Winter and Tom Stern's whacked-out comedy is a grand mutant feast, chock full of every type of deformed folks that you could ever think of,and some of the most inventively outrageous humor around. This is also the film where Tom Green surely copied a few of the gags for his cinematic disasterpiece "Freddy Got Fingered"(which will soon rival off with the upcoming "Vulgar The Clown" for the title of "Worst Film of the 21st. Century",and am waiting for a critic to say that ,""Vulgar" makes "Freddy Got Fingered" look like "Titanic"",which we all smartly know that both "Vulgar' and "Freddy" both massively suck). After the gritty but extremely weak thriller "Fever",I sure hope that Alex gets his act together, and gets to reunite with  Tom(Stern)for another all-out comedic whack-fest,which is the kind of film we could sorely need right now.

I liked Freaked. One thing though, it cheats. Don't read any further unless you've watched the movie.

In all the interview scenes, we're led to believe that Winter is still a freak, but when the lights are turned on, the strange parts of his head are revealed to be a cactus that's beside him. However, if you watch the darkened scenes closely, you'll see the shapes move when he moves his head and they are clearly part of him. I know, it's a minor point, but it just sticks out as cheating to me.

That's true, it is a little weak...But the movie is made Godlike by the introduction of Rastafarian Eyeballs with machine guns. That, and Megan Ward. Mmm, Megan Ward...

Hows this for weird:  The only reason I ever saw this movie when it was on TV was because of the novelization.  I distinctly remember being in 2nd grade and getting a book order, and I saw the novelization advertised.  I'd never heard of the movie, but I thought it sounded cool, so I was going to get it.  I ended up missing the deadline and not getting the book, but ever since I decided that I'd be sure to see the movie one day.

And, about a decade later, I finally own the movie.  After seeing I'm a really big fan, but I really doubt it'd translate well to book format.  I have read other Strasser, however, back in the day, so who knows...
