Sounds good, but "Fright Night" is far from crap. It's a great Horror/Comedy, with a fine performance from Roddy McDowell.

Any chance of doing a review for "Doom Asylum"? It's an 80's Slasher film featuring a pre "Sex In The City" star Kristen Davis. I'm always interested in hearing others comments on this film.

I know Fright Night is an awesome movie. It's not a bad movie. It's a good movie. It's a good bad movie. I f you looked at my under my post Howfey Yall,Fright Night is one of my favorite movies. I hate when people say Jerry and his friend are gay are gay. You do have to admate that Evil Ed was pretty annoying before he was turned into a vampire. I have to see Fright Night 2 sometime. Jerrys sister tries to get revenge for Jerry's death.

Hope you don't expect too much from "Fright Night 2". While it has its moments it is not even close to being the classic that the original "Fright Night" is.

Wow.  That's frightening.  I was just searching for reviews of Fright Night and Romeo Must Die.

I saw Fright Night in the theatre when it was first released.  Great Movie and even better in the theatre with a TON of people screaming, "RELOAD! RELOAD!" as the zombie version of Renfield slowly stalks up the stairs.

I've got Romeo on DVD.  Another good movie.  Jet Li rocks.  There was some so-so wirework, but Aaliyah was so hot I would have bought the dvd just to see her mug for the camera.

I would really like to see "Enter the dragon" reviewed. I mean, it is an OK movie, but if you want it to be so, it can be hilarious, and probably it still have not been reviewed from this angle.

First of all Fright Night 2 was a good movie on it's own but when i watch it i always wish i'm watching the original. Fright night was one of those movies that had a strong effect on me as a little kid (alongside return of the living dead). to this day i've been collecting memoribillia and out of all the s**t i have my favorite would have to be my "amy" vampire resin model.

Also, speaking of gay, Evil Ed is one of the things that make Fright Night a Classic to me and stephen geoffreys is a great actor. It's a known fact that he after the 80's he got into homosexual pornography. Not that that decreases any respect or praise i have for the man and it shouldn't for any of you.

Trevor

P.S. it's not reinfield and to be honest in no way close the the character besides the fact that he's a servant of the vampire. his name is billy cole and he's jerry dandridge's "roomate"

That's what I said they are NOT gay, and I hate when people say it. I never said Evil Ed was gay either, I just said he was annoying. Thanks for telling me Jerry's friend or "roomate's" name. I could not remember it and it was killing me. I also hate when people say Fred from Scooby-Doo is. He's not. Daffeny is his FRIGGIN' girlfriend. THE DAMN SCARF DOES NOT MEAN HE IS GAY. GOT IT.

The "servant of the vampire" bit is the reason I called him a version of renfield.

Always willing to talk about one of my favorite vampire films. I say it is not only one of the two best vampire films from the '80's, the other being "Lair of the White Worm." but one a baker's dozen best vampire films made in the past 80 years.
As to the sexual orientation of the character--not the actor--the character "Evil Ed"
Thompson, alot of gays claim him as one of their own. It is something that Jerry Dandridge (Chris Sarandon) said just before he bit him, and I am paraphrasing here: "They will hurt you no more." Alot of gays took that as code to mean that "Evil Ed" was suffering from the hurt of being a gay teen.
As for the actor who played him, Stephen Geoffreys, it is said that he is trying to get back into a more legitimate line of acting in films.
As for the sexual orientation of the character--not the actor--the character Jerry Dandridge (Chris Sarandon), the misunderstanding may come about. because he comes across as being neither straight nor gay, but bisexual. And if one equates the bite with sex, then that is true. Like Lady Syvia Marsh (Amanda Donohoe) in "Lair of the White Worm," another bisexual character, he is willing to put the bite on anyone. Men, women, boys, it does not matter to him. He even goes her one better. He is willing to put the bite on girls.
As for his roommate in the film, I do not know if he was described as being gay in the novel based on the screenplay, but he was descrbed as being a necrophile. Having sex with Dandridge's female victims after they were dead.
As for the film itself, after seeing it again last October, something struck me about it. After the mother disappears from the film, it becomes a six person story. And all six actors turn in excellent characterizations.
And a P.S. Of the films listed, some of them may be better then others, but none of them are crap by any means. Actually, they come across as being some of their best in their genera. Enjoy!

I didn't mean to start a whole gay discussion jeeze. I blame myself. I didn't mean to offend anyone if I did, I just said I hate when people say the two vampires are gay, and that Evil Ed is annoying, I DID NOT SAY HE WAS GAY.

BoyScoutKevin:  You said you liked this movie?  I have never heard of it before.  As I am always looking for a good vamp flick I did a quick search.  It stars Hugh Grant?  I've seen several movies with him in them and he's always annoyed me.  Does he play this role straight or does he do his normal "bumblin' stumblin" routine?

I have the movie adaptation if that's what your talking about and there's no part that says anything about billy cole cracking open a cold one. in other words as far as the book's concerned we do not know if he is or not.
