The World's Fastest Indian

I've got a big pile of VHS & DVDs, but I haven't actually been to a movie theater for several years. For me, it was something different, which may be a part of why I liked this movie.

Anthony Hopkins portrays motorcyclist Burt Munro, whom at the age of sixty-eight, is trying to raise funds to take his 1920 Indian Scout to Speed Week at the Bonneville Flats. After suffering a severe heart attack, his docter hands him a bottle of nitro pills, and tells him to take the rest of his life off, so Burt decides he needs to do this now, whether he has the funds or not.

Taking a job as a cook on a freighter, Burt Makes his way from his home in New Zealand to L.A.

Quick to make friends, Burt takes several odd jobs & overcomes a series of discouraging setbacks as he makes his way from L.A. to Salt Lake City.

The soundtrack was a little annoying & it had a few cliches, but it was an interesting take on the old "it's never too late, it's never too little, it's not the end of the world" routine.

Plus, if you've ever owned a bike, it's easy to relate to how scary it is when your machine fishtails @90mph, or taking a tumble & shrugging it off with thoughts of how all those huge bloody wounds on your body aren't half as bad as that teensie little scratch on your fender.

I call The World's Fastest Indian a ride to be seen!

I had heard this was a pretty good film.
