I just read on another board that Dan O'Bannon and the producers of the original Screamers (1995) are planning a sequel. So far, this is an unconfirmed rumour.

Sounds great to me. O'Bannon is a great writer who needs to do more films, and I absolutely loved the original, which adapted a short story by Philip K. Dick.

A sequel this far after the original? How odd in a way. I haven't seen 'Screamers' in years; the only thing I remember was the ending. I was like 'Oh no'.

A late sequel wouldn't be that rare, both "Mimic" and "The Hidden" had direct-to-video follow-ups.
