Well not so much off topic, as all encompassing of said topic.  You see, I just got my dirty dirty little hands on the Playstation 2 game, Evil Dead: Regeneration, and as an Evil Dead fanboy, I have to say I'm loving every bloodsoaked minute of it!

Essentially ignoring Army of Darkness, this film essentially takes off where Evil Dead 2 left off: Ash has just been battling the evil forces of the Necrominicon, and has been arrested for killing all his friends and placed in a crazy house, where, of course, an evil doctor has been experimenting with the Book of the Dead.

Of course, as usual, bad things happen and its up to you/Ash to kick some deadite arse, but this time you have help!  Aiding you on your adventures is Sam, the midget Half human Half Deadite.

This is by far the best character addition I could think of, since you can kick Sam at your enemies and essentially demolish the little bugger over and over again.  That plus your good ol boomstick and chainsaw, and you're on your way for a load of carnage.

But what really makes this a great game is the fact that the man with the chin, Bruce Campbell, provides the voices, as does Ted Raimi for Sam, and that the game is full of the Sam Raimi odd angles and humour, and is just a riot the whole time.  I mean, sure the gameplay is repetitive, but nothing beats kicking the crap out of demons whilst listening the Campbell and Raimi make quips the whole time.

Boy am I going to be having Evil Dead related dreams all night, and it's going to be great!

This was an awesome Christmas gift.

Though one thing I liked more about "A Firstfull of Boomstick" and "Hail to the King" was that the world was a bit more freer in movement and not based around levels.
