This movie is included in the NIGHTMARE WORLDS 50 MOVIE PACK.

This is another crappy Charles Band production.  Kirk Scott stars as Professor Andrew Boran (his name should have been "Boring" instead of "Boran"), a scientist who intercepts strange transmissions between the earth and outer space.  He and his wife (Sue Lyon, from LOLITA) decide to investigate.  They trace the transmissions to a convent where Father Pergado (Christopher Lee, in one of his most embarrasing roles) lives with a group of nuns.  I won't tell you the rest, but get a load of this cheesy cast:

* Dean Jagger

* Lew Ayres

* MacDonald Carey

By the way, don't be fooled by the above poster (which is much better than the actual movie).  The creature in the poster is shown in the movie for about 2 seconds (and I'm not exaggerating).

This movie stinks, so watch it at your own risk.

(tepid to lukewarm spoilers.)
Where to start? LIke the opening with Christopher Lee, which wasn't bad, but then he disappears for more than half-an-hour while we are treated to the dull professor and his institutes'  need for more money. For a brief time it seemed like it was going to turn into a conspiracy plot with the Dean Jagger character seemingly trying to prevent the professor from investigating the source of the messages by getting Dr. Dull to go back on his lecture tour. No such chance of a interesting plot development, no, the old guy was just crotchety.  A real low point for Lee.

Things this film taught me: (Spoilers)
The earth is filled with firecrackers and confetti.
I never knew that the final destruction of the earth would be so FABULOUS!
I never could have imagined that debating whether to stay on the Earth and die or go to the aliens' planet would be so dull.
