Indeed! This movie was complete crap! I was hoping it would at least stupify me, in a good way, but as it turns out, Ultraviolet is BORING AS HELL! How could a futuristic vampire war type flick be boring?!?!?!??!?!? I think even Uwe Boll saw this movie and hated it!  BounceGiggle

I saw this movie not to long ago and it remained of Aeon Flux. All style no substance nice to look (Milla as well as scenery) and no plot what so ever. Saying that I actually enjoyed it for whats it worth (Watchs my Karma go down)  TeddyR

Nothing I plan to watch again or own but It did kill time.

One part that had me laughing though in begining when so goes "I hate all Humans" then a couple scenes later she asked to use the weapons she carrying to kill a entire area of humans she "I can't kill all those people". Twirling All before she finds out whats in the case shes carrying.

And what the hell did those Asian guys on the roof have to do with anything? That had no bearing to the movie in a bit. Than again story and plot where a enemy to this movie.

I enjoyed it for adding some interesting ideas to sci-fi film, which is what I was in the mood for at the time.

I hated it for being a pointless Vampire-type film [utterly useless, when there was so much potential] and of course plot, story and characters was crap as well.  It all just seemed so rushed.

But hey, I'm kind of in agreement with Rich.  Aeon Flux is pretty much the same as this one: pretty, but boring.

All swing and no ding I suppose.

I just watched the trailer and enjoyed watching Milla. I can watch Milla all day long. You mean there was actually a longer version of the trailer called a movie? TeddyR

I enjoyed Milla and her tight stomach...that is what this film was about afterall. The movie was weak but I can watch Milla wearing tight clothes and showing her stomach...that's entertainment.

One of the reasons I loved "The Fifth Element."  Milla wrapped in a few bandages and with bright red hair.

Its like these are true "man" movies. Women don't get why we watch UnderWorld, UnderWorld 2: Even Tighter Leather, Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2: Look Milla Naked Last Scene!

Indeed, the only reason I bought Ultraviolet was to drool over Milla. I watched it once with the sound just to find out what the "story" was about, but since then I'll pop in it the DVD player and let it play with no sound, just enjoying the visuals.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

It's pretty bad, and is a huge letdown after Equilibrium.  EQ has some significant flaws, but it is still well-directed, has great action scenes, and has great performances from several excellent actors.

Still, I enjoyed Ultraviolet for its badness and stupidity too.  It deserves a review on this site eventually, me thinks.

In retrospect, the thing that really stuck in my head about Ultraviolet was the look.  And not in a completely good way.  It was like someone took all the overly blatant design choices from The Matrix and Casshern...and a tiny dash of, yes, Equilibrium...put them in a blender...put the blender itself on slight Gaussian blur...and then overprocessed the whole *%&#*&%!! thing to the point where it was gratuitously stylistic for the sole purpose of being gratuitously stylistic.  And even that was cranked up to 11.

I could probably forgive it a little bit if the action sequences were a little more consistent.  Some were zippy-fast, and some appeared slow as molasses.  Make up your damn minds, people.

And as for Milla...I suppose I can't hate on her too much, she's gotta eat.  And the monosyllabic badassette, thanks to Kate Beckinsale (I really need to watch my Underworld DVD one of these days), is/was back in minor vogue anyway.  But why did her stomach look rendered in this movie?  (Mr. Wimmer, however, should have known better.  I'd love to know if the thing mentioned earlier about studio interference is true, though...)
