What are you afraid of? It's only rock n' roll.

picked up this cool little flick last night, it totally kicked my ass.

A group of friends capture an alien one night and bring it to their other friends house  to torture and kill it because years before they were all abducted by these aliens and the aliens killed the one friends brother so now the group wants revenge. the main character doesnt want anything to do with it and the killing of the alien will result in a total massacre of the planet earth. oh yea the main character has a tolerance for alien infection/diseases and has been ALTERED by the aliens so now he posesses a hidden telekenisis like power unbeknowsdnt to him.

i was expecting another low budget direct to video garbage-fest but this was suprisingly entertaining with a good story line, decent acting and mucho cool special effects. we get just enough info about the aliens, what they do and how they do it.  the aliens also look really cool, no cgi for these baddies good ol' guys in suits! i cant think of anything to complain about except i would have liked to see more alien mayhem, and how in the hell did wyatt(main character) cut that friggin "clicker" out/off of his intestines all by himself? the pain would be ridiculously immense and he sure as hell couldn't do it under an anesthetic. definetly recommend you check it out if you like alien flicks or monster movies.

The effectiveness of a actual, physical creature seems to be getting some attention in the last year or two.  I was afraid that we might degenerate into nothing but CGI beasties, like "Dragon Fighter," but "Feast" and a couple of other films have shown that well-done suits or monster props can be the best way.

I need to see "Altered."

I recently wrote a thread about this movie.
It is an excellent film and I highly recommend it.

By the way, the guys do torture the alien but they don't kill it.
I thought the idea of strapping a welding mask over the alien's head was great.
Remember, don't make eye contact with them or else they can get into your head and control your mind.

And that wasn't a male actor in the alien suit...it was a woman.
Misty Rosas has played several creatures in different movies.  She was Amy the Gorilla in Congo.

Altered is on the Badmovies.org Myspace friends list too.

The other thread had also sparked my interest in seeing "Altered."  I find that happens a lot on the board.  Someone posts about the film, a few people chime in, and suddenly I have another movie on my "I want to see it" list.

Same here. I would have never heard about movies like "Session 9" or "Altered" if not for this board.

On flip side I would have never saw "Hood of the living dead" and would have lived a better life not knowing it existed.  Drink

I made comments on the other thread about Altered too.

This one should be arriving from Netflix tomorrow. After all the positive things I've read about it here, I am quite looking forward to it.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.
