Varla is more like a man-eating tiger than a kitten, though her reckless desires could be her undoing.  Think of her as a Shakespearean tragic hero with cleavage and judo chops.

This is Russ Meyer's masterpiece IMO. A fantastic film experience unlike any other. Suspect it was an inspiration for many films to come in the 1990s. In terms of violence and shock value akin to NATURAL BORN KILLERS and PULP FICTION, this is one of the forerunners.

This information sent in by Gary and Sandra:

FPKK turned up on TV recently, with the bonus of interviews with the stars.  Tura Satana said that, in the fight scene, the guy was so afraid of getting hurt that they had to remove all the rocks from the battle area, and that she should have received a Best Actress award for the scene in which she sucked face with Kirk, because he had lethal bad breath!  Gads, those breasts should have been registered as lethal weapons!

Russ Myer's finest hour with Beyond the Valley of the Dolls being a close second IMO.

TMC Cult Cinema with Rob Zombie had it at some point I think.  I have the DVD so I didn't watch it ... all I can say is I love the film and most of Russ Meyer's stuff.

BUT!!!!!!

Those women did not age well from one of the recent interviews I saw. They are scary!!!

A great movie.  B&W comic book nihilism in the desert.  No nudity or explicit sex, but the subtext is consistently nasty and the film feels like "dirty" movie (in a good way)!

One thing no one ever seems to mention is the soundtrack.  I love the way it veers from foreboding horns to crazy beatnik jazz to instrumental surf rock (just so Lori Williams will have something to shake to).  Meyer's sound editing is every bit as quick and crisp as his visuals.

Caught this one on DriveIN tv not too long ago. They had a Russ Myers week on there and showed all his films. I have to say that this one sits on top for me, whereas mondo topless annoyed the heck out of me Thumbup

LOVE THIS FLICK! SEE IT NOW! I ALWAYS THINK OF THIS FILM WHEN I'M WAITING FOR A TRAIN TO PASS. NICE TO SEE THE "CHOP" USED AS IT WAS INTENDED. "OPEN HANDS, ARE HAPPY HANDS"! FIGHTS NEEDED A PALM HEEL STRIKE, I THINK.

One of the aspects of this movie that I really like, is the hip groovy lingo used...
For Example:

Varla: "What about the frail?!!! Use yer noodle!"

Her dynamic use of the english language gives me a stiffy...

I have seen all 3 girls at conventions recently.
Although I'm afraid it's true, Tura has not aged really well...C'mon! The movie is
FORTY THREE years old! Hadji didn't look bad at all, considering, and for everyone's information, I kinda thought Lori Williams had maintained quite a bit of steam!
Have some mercy here, this movie is closing on half a century old.
Incidentally, Tura was unbelievably nice, and funny too. I really enjoyed meeting her.
All of them, for that matter.
Still an awesome movie!!!

I guess you all have heard the rumors that Quentin Tarantino (who has always wanted to remake this movie and from all accounts is going forward with that at some point in the near future)  is going to be casting porn star Tera Patrick in the lead.

She's got the right looks (and most importantly the gravity defying rack, all natural BTW   TeddyR  ) and if he could pull out a good actual acting performance out of her, this might wind up being a  remake worth watching.

In the recent G-FAN, in an interview with Ib Melchor, he told where Tura Satana tried for the female lead in ANGRY RED PLANET...showed up at his office, asked "are you looking for a good looking lady?" , unzipped her green jumpsuit, and stood there nekked!
I gotta wonder...how did she not get the job? No 'Irish" enough?

Torgo, I have my doubts about a Tarantino remake. Tarantino is at his best with dialogue and a cool atmosphere, whereas 'Faster' is all about heat and passion. That being said, he might pull it off.
