Kurt Russell is one of my favorite actors.
Which of his films do you like the best?

I purposely left out most of his early TV stuff before he got into motion pictures.

Big Trouble in Little China got my vote but it was a close tie between The Thing and Tombstone.

I like Kurt he can do drama, Scifi, and comedy all with the same skill.  I voted for Big Trouble in Little China. Everybody knows someone like Jack Burton.

I had to debate between Used Cars and Tombstone.  I flipped a coin and went with Tombstone; it is a classic.

I like Stargate, even though I think Russell was mis-case and really didn't fit the roll IMHO.

IT'S A RED CAR!

Man that movie is hilarious.  Folks who think AMERICAN PIE is funny should watch USED CARS.

But alas, I voted THE THING.

I voted for Big Trouble in Little China, but I also like Soldier, Captain Ron, Used Cars, Kurt Russell is great in everything he's in, so I think all his movies are good.  He's one of the few actors I would say that about. Thumbup Thumbup

He did do a voice in The Fox an the Hound.  That is easily the best movie he's been a part of.

I have to give honorable mention to Soldier.
While it's not the greatest movie, I think Russell's performance in it was definitely one of his best.
It's one of the few leading actor performances that are really good without much dialogue.
I was really rooting for him to kick some serious ass.  And he did!

And speaking of Used Cars, that movie is great!   Thumbup
My stepfather owns a used car dealership and I bought the DVD for him this last Christmas.

For those of you who have never seen it, you should check it out.

My favorite movie with him is definitely "The Thing."  That is one of my favorites of all time.  He plays the part of a tough, but depressed, chopper pilot for a remote antarctic research station very well.  I love the scene with him getting angry (and even) with the chess computer.

If I had to pick a film where he blows away the rest of the cast, I would pick "Big Trouble in Little China."

*SPOILER AHEAD*

As Jack Burton, he is everything you equate with a loudmouth, but he also has the ability to back it up.  If he is completely outclassed, he will run, but if he thinks he has a chance or is backed into a corner, Jack goes for broke.  The scene at the end, when he catches the knife and chucks it back at Lo Pan, is the perfect example.  Right in the forhead, awesome.

"Escape from New York" would be my second choice for a movie where he overshadows the rest of the cast.
