Hmmm, my last 24 hours was a busy one.
Starting Friday morning I woke at about 9 for work at 10 [I try and get there a bit early though]. Spent 3/4 of the day out of the shop helping out installer at work mount a couple of plasma screens on a wall and install a smaller LCD panel in a house. Weather was pretty hot [about 28/30 celcius] but thankfully the house was air conditioned.
For lunch had a late one after the install, and went to a nearby chicken-type shop which had an interesting idea for a baguette sandwhich: the stir fry baguette, which involved your basic chicken teriyaki-type stir fry with some vegetables, put on a baguette roll with some Hommous and some other salads. A winner for hungry stomachs everywhere really.
Back at the shop it was pretty quiet and spent it catching up on some customer's jobs, cleaning, answering phones and watching One Day Cricket.
After work, rushed home, made myself a ham and cheese toasted sandwich as a quick dinner [still full from the baguette earlier since it was a late lunch].
The reason why I rushed home was because I was going to a show with some friends. The beauty of it, was that it was a burlesque show, and a whole lot of fun.
For those not in the know, burlesque is like a more risque cabaret I suppose, and this one was very good.
Sugartime BurlesqueA fun indie rock band called The Orphans were on stage for a bit, playing as backing for some of the acts, and played some tracks on their own as well.
Acts included The Butchershop Quartet: four guys who sing a creepy song while mutilating a 'dead body' on stage. Very psycho, but awesome psycho. Also a Green Fairy [can't remember the name] who starts with some crazily big feather wings, and ends pouring a bottle of absinth onto herself and part of the front row. There was a "Little Red Riding Hood" who is 'assaulted' and dances with the wolf [even though there's only one person on stage: it was really well choreographed!] a really hilarious group called "The Town Bikes" who put on two really odd acts which very much screwed with the conventions of the whole thing, and numerous other acts, including some proper dancing [as in, not the semi stripping kind], terrible jokes and just generally surreal odd ones which just made the night an absolute blast.
All tastefully risque of course, and had a very old school vibe to it.
After the show we trooped to a couple of bars in the area, got home around 3am and woke at 9 again for work today [saturday's are easy though].
Usually I'd spend more time online, since most weeknights are spent catching up on friend's blog posts, online comics, and of course the necessary 'check unread posts' link at this forum. That usually takes a while to trawl through.
