Certainly not bad movies (except maybe in their AIP edits), but certainly of interest to gothic horror fans, Anchor Bay US is releasing a collection of Mario Bava's classic films in a boxset in April - including:
Black Sunday (1960)
Girl Who Knew too Much (1962)
Black Sabbath (1963)
Kill, Baby, Kill (1966)
Knives of the Avenger (1966)
And as a plus, the first three films will include both the original Italian versions, and the heavily re-edited AIP American versions, with different soundtracks and English dubbing (hear Karloff's original voice). There is also a selection of Tim Lucas commentaries and special features. The only thing missing is an Italian track for 'Black Sunday'.
More details on my
upcoming page.
Anchor Bay are also releasing a separate release of Bava's "lost" film "Rabid Dogs", including the new "Kidnapped" edit of the film from Lamberto Bava, featuring new footage and soundtrack with a feature and audio commentary.
