Note: I have attempted to not include any nude screen shots for the sake of the site, as I'm not sure exactly what the rules are regarding that type of thing, so I decided to play it safe.

So whether you like this film or not, or even if it put you to sleep or annoyed the crap out of you, feel free to discuss it here in this thread; I won't mind the debate as this movie can be interpreted in many different ways and I certainly wouldn't expect everyone to like it.  Thanks in advance for reading!

Like "The Keep," a film I've never seen, but unlike "The Keep," a film I've no interest in seeing. But, if one likes director Stanley Kubrick, this is a film worth checking out. In a career that lasted from 1951 to 1999, he only directed 16 films, and this was his last film.

The first time I saw this was on HBO and I missed the beginning.  I started watching at the scene where Tom Cruise is in the costume shop to pick up his costume.
I had no idea why he was out wandering around and had not seen what went on between him & his wife earlier...

I watched it from that point all the way to the end and was like, "WTF"??
Then, a few days later, HBO showed it again and I watched the entire thing.

This is one trippy movie!

I loved it.
There's something about it....I couldn't take my eyes off the screen and was completely riveted throughout the entire movie.
I may just pick this one up on DVD sometime soon.

Haha it's true -I'm over due.  I'll try to have something soon.  I've been watching Kubrick's other work lately (Dr. Strangelove last weekend, 2001 the week before and I just started Spartacus yesterday) so I can make comparisons, but I guess that's no excuse for at least continuing with the recap.  At least I know someone out there is reading them hehe.  Thanks.

Wasn't Warner Bros. supposed to be releasing an uncensored version of Eyes wide Shut sometime in North America?  I've been wanting to get my hands on a copy of this movie that didn't have the digital figures obscuring most of the "action" in the orgy sequence to get an R rating.

anyway, I really liked Eyes Wide Shut and I normally despise Tom Cruise.  Being a huge Stanley Kubrick fan, I can completely understand how people were maybe let down by this flick.  Maybe because they didn't know what the expect due to how little was known about the movie when they were making it other than Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman starring in it.

While not Kubrick's best film by any measure, it still is an excellent film IMO.
