Last night I finished up watching
6 Angels, which is a bit funny because this movie was pretty bad and yet I had a damaged DVD and set it back to be replaced to watch the whole thing
This movie is veyr low budget. The acting is pretty much "high school drama class" level and the production isn't any better. As a matter of fact. it reminded me of some of Nathan's visits into ultra-cheap screeners.
However, I was intrigued by the plot and wanted to see where they would take it.
The setup is that our main characer, Taileen, is in a car crash that kills both of her parents and leaves her ina coma for 12 years. When she wakes up, she finds out that she is dead...sorta. She is now part of a group of six, three good and three bad, who are an eternal war with each other. They form The Circle and are in a constant state of conflict set up by God and Satan a long time ago to keep some sort of balance to good and evil. They can be killed off, to be replaced by someone else (hence how Taileen got the job) so there is always six. Why they are fighting is never really explained, they just are. One of the bad 'angels' finds out a way to break the Circle by finding out who is the next to join and so they kill him first and then kill whome he was to replace, screwing up the whole order of things. This is apparently a good thing for the bad guys but a bad thing for the rest of us because, I think, this will allow evil to be unrestrained in the world. So in one shot, the circle is broken and 2/3 of the good guys get offed, leaving just Taileen to fight off the three bad guys in order to keep evil at bay.
Oh, btw, all six 'angels' have individual powers, some of which are pretty much unused and some of which are awfully convenient for furthering, or rescuing, the plot at certain points.
There are a lot of unexplained reasons behind what is happening so don't expect everything to wrap up to make sense, but it is kinda fun in the sense that they put some original thought behind the basic story, avoided cliches, and seemed to have fun doing it, with almost no budget or skill :)
