I must be in a really weird mood or something  Smile  I've never been much of a Gamera fan but according to the reviews I've read everybody says these movies are great.

I guess this is supposed to be real good, words like "epic" and "genius" get used a lot to describe it.  Even "grandiose and sweeping epic".  That's gotta be better than the usual "sucks ass" stuff that I normally watch  Thumbup

Well, I'm gonna get slammed tomorrow with all these pre-orders. Can you tell how badly I need to stay away from Amazon?

That is a good movie indeed: I just never knew how to pronounce the title as Ran or Run.  Smile

I'm about to jump into that one as soon as I reheat my pizza. I'll give a report when the torture is over.

Picked up Battleship from Wal-Mart and a sealed copy of the out of print Midnite Movies version of Die, Monster, Die! from a flea market (along with the Clint Eastwood movie The Gauntlet).

I thought that Battleship, while having absolutely diddly-squat to do with the game, was pretty fun (it reminded me a lot of a slightly less convoluted Independence Day) and had a really great soundtrack by Steve Jablonsky, while Die, Monster, Die! was a fun Boris Karloff outing and Lovecraft pastiche, with an always welcome Nick Adams as the hero.

They do good work, and they are really nice folks. One of the main honchos there sent me a copy of one of their out-of-print double-features (Savage Waters/Death By Invitation) after I asked why it went out of print so fast. Yes, I had to pre-order "The Telephone Book" to get it, but I already had it on pre-order, so it wasn't any skin off my nose.

I do wish they would release more grindhouse titles, though. Porn, even vintage porn, isn't something I really try to collect very much of.

Wow, that is really awesome. That DVD of Savage Waters/Death By Invitation is a rare gem. People are asking between 50-90$ for a copy. They sound like a good group of folks. I concur, I would like to see them release more than just the softcore sleaze titles although I am anxious to see how they handle their current releases.

Went a little crazy. In my defense I only do this about once a year rather than spreading out purchases through the year.

The real winner out of these is Contamination .7, also known as Troll 3. Try to not roll your eyes at some of the events near the end of the film.

If you're a drinking man, you can take a shot of whiskey every time a continuity error occurs in Catacombs. I'm not responsible for any alcohol poisoning that may result.

Recent pickups from SwapaDVD:

Remember when Howie Long retired from the NFL and Hollywood tried to make him into the next big Action Movie Star?

...nah, me neither. TeddyR

But seriously, I caught the tail end of this flick on Fox Movie Channel a while ago and what little I saw looked like a fun, empty headed action movie... we'll see how it pans out.
