I like to alternate the good and the bad: Far Cry was not worth the money.

-Samurai Cop (Great purchase! New clean widescreen transfer on DVD, but the updated cover sucks balls.)
-Sledgehammer (Saw a 2 minute clip on youtube for this Shot on 1983 home video slasher fail, and it was the only 2 minutes wirth seeing. Waste of time and money.)
-Death Warrior (aka Turkish Evil Dead, aka Olum Savascisi. Had to buy online from some random ass guy in Hungary(turkishcult.net). Fantastic purchase. Incredible movie.)
-Miami Connection (Bought the "Oh My God" edition from Drafthouse, and got the vinyl. Only 300 vinyls made! You can't like bad movies and not own M.C.)

Brought home a disc from the library sale today and now that I have looked it up on the 'net I am embarrassed I did (not to mention scared to watch it).   Bluesad  It has some nasty animal scenes.  I only picked it up because the title cracked me up - and for the pic of Ursula Andress on the cover (C'mon: she almost guarantees it's a bad movie!)

Slave of the Cannibal God.  (1978)

Damn.  TongueOut I know: maybe I can send it to Jack!  I suspect he'd be as uncomfortable with some of the scenes as I was to read about them...but he'd man up and tough it out for the sake of Ursula's nude scene.  THAT part is supposed to be the one - or two - redeeming feature(s).  Lookingup

LOL, I can't watch any cruelty to animals either.  I could probably look up the nude scenes on Youtube though  TeddyR

Anyhow I bought the After Dark Horrorfest 3 collection.  After I ordered it I noticed that it was actually the SECOND one that I wanted, from 2007.  Oh well, $5.50 for 8 movies and about half of those After Dark things are usually kind of good.

Usually...

I have to say I was a little disappointed.  Aside from being generally kind of shoddy and featuring some poor dubbing and dopey narration, it's not too bizarre.  Just a cheap presentation of a fairy tale...then again I don't think I was giving it my full attention.

Just got:

Trapped In The Closet - is going to either make you want to rip your ears off, or cry tears of joy. It's one of the most ambitious and unique bad movies I've seen. Kelly SING/Narrates the ENTIRE movie... IN THE SAME SONG. So, you go through a roller coaster of madness, and acceptance, but if your brain allows it to continue, a bountiful treasure of absurd and repulsive melodramatic human behavior awaits you.

It was originally released as a web series, uploading 3 minute segments at a time, and the first 13 were compiled into a 45 minute movie, then 14-22 as part 2, then 1-22 (which is what I bought) creates a full 90 minute masterpiece.

I highly recommend checking it out from the beginning, Just keep in mind that it manages to get crazier as it goes along. If you find "thug-life" or "Gangster culture" as ridiculous as I do, then you are going to love this! (just don't watch all 22 in one sitting!)

Puppet Monster Massacre - on the other hand, I can't really recommend.
It was a $5 risk, and I watched it last night. It's intentionally trying to be funny, and the humor is very juvenile instead of clever. It's feels a lot like an amateur hour long episode of Family Guy, but with flat jokes, goofiness, and bad pacing. They tried to pay homage to 80's horror, but there's barely any real effort put into the backgrounds, or special effects. most of the time it's jut puppets screaming and CG red blood splatters overlaying the screen.

Intentionally bad movies are hard to pull off (Evil Dead, Black Dynamite) and 20 times harder to pull of if you don't have a budget. Manborg, however is an exception. While it wasn't great, I still really enjoyed it, because they put a LOT of effort into it.

If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

The choice is simple; refuse to create, and refuse to grow, or build, with care and love.
