The Stranglers - Golden Brown.

Given what this song is actually about it really amused me that some bakery used it in one of their adverts.

DAVID BOWIE Hunky Dory

Great album.  I'm at the point where I actually don't skip "Changes" anymore.  "Changes" is a song I love, but it wasn't part of the whole when I got into this album (finally) after BOWIE died.  It has long been well known, if not infamous.  Of course, it's an essential BOWIE album, particularly if you are an aficionado.  Though I owned a lot of his records, I never was.  The albums I love, I love individually.   I owned some I didn't like at all (think Tonight

HUMAN LEAGUE!  I never owned Dare and I couldn't stand their hit then ("Don't You Want Me") but, I loved their EP Fascination! a record I owned long ago... maybe do not like the last two so much... but I LOVE "Hard Times"

I've been working my way thru the Judas Priest discography cuz I'm currently reading Heavy Duty, the autobiography by former JP guitarist K.K. Downing.

At the moment I'm up to Jugulator (1997), the first album with replacement vocalist Tim "Ripper" Owens. a lotta fans seemed to hate this one but I always liked it. The follow up, Demolition (2001) though... pew, what a stink burger that was.

Somebody like The Gun Club I can kind of understand, but I find it a little curious that this one by Patti Smith is still in circulation...

Use of the word in a Rock context, which might be it's only appropriate use in music, has always been controversial.  Think JOHN & YOKO's record "Woman is the N of the World"... never well received, but they were making a Rock statement, which I understand.

HORSE (Sound like CREAM crossed with JEFFERSON AIRPLANE / BLUE CHEER... can play; can't write songs).   Thumbdown
