Got a couple of soundtracks in the mail (unasked for, studios are sending them out with the screeners because they seem to think my critics' group votes for "Best Soundtrack"):



Not bad, and includes songs by Townes Van Zandt, the Four Tops ("Walk Away Renee"!) and Joan Baez ("The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down").

also "The Shape of Water" by Alexandre Desplat

not released yet, not very good, but it made me listen to

I'm no pianist so I can't comment properly, but I enjoy the interpretations in my collection from Anton Batagov, Alexandre Tharaud, and especially Samson Francois.

SAMSON FRANCOIS ...more than competent, and inspired, bringing personal interpretation to RAVEL's music, a necessity.  I myself feel there has been a surfeit of interpretations which miss the point.  This is a very nice Gaspard de la Nuit...  Scarbo is already cool... otherwise, not my RAVEL.  I have now learned how truly unique Scarbo is.  SAMSON FRANCOIS is magnificent and built his entire Gaspard around his Scarbo interpretation.  Wow.  Here he goes, and backs off...    Question

This band is under-rated. Grace Slick is the coolest.
They're dressed like Devil worshipers and there's a Munster house back drop!
