Bummer Dudette,

I've received a bad disc before (Remember those FarScape Starburst duds) all I did was call them, they sent a new one with a postage paid label to send the bad disc back. No trouble, no grief, no problem.

Actually I just started buying my dvd's used on amazon and have had great success with big discounts, perfect dvd's and no problems in shipping. No weeks of waiting around wondering when it might arrive as with DDD  i never had so much as a tracking number.

Also we have a local movie trading company where you can buy used DVD's, I believe as they are affiliated with Blockbuster the surplus is no doubt extra's from the parent company But as people come in trading their movies it doesn't matter. they have bins even of dvd's in just a slipcase that are a buck or two all the way to brand new title. i know the headquarters is here in dallas but i would think that other cities have something similar to this type of shop. They even sell music and VHS tapes so you are bound to find lots of obscure stuff

Still waiting for my Aztec Mummy collection. I thought it had arrived yesterday, but it was the dogs' AVANTIX order instead. Since the ticks are boiling out of the ground onto the dogs right now I guess this is a good thing.

That's how I buy the majority of my stuff these days, too. Buying b movies this way is particularly effective: discs that originally retailed for 15 or 20 bucks can sometimes be had for a couple of dollars.

The one small drawback is you can't 'preorder' used discs from Amazon, and sometimes there's just something psychologically gratifying about being "first in line" to get a new release. I'm largely over that, and have only preordered a couple of things in the last few years. I used to preorder stuff from DDD all the time.  Smile
