Starring Sonny Chiba. The big baddie,( Rockseia), attacks the innocent planet & the old wise man sends 8 magic Walnuts-yes Walnuts into space to find 8 heroes to save them.

Rockseaia has metal skin, ( sorry couldn't post link), & Sonny Chiba swordfights him, finally stabs him in the eye. Way cool. Roberts hard to find videos has a few copies, expensive they are. I found one for 6$. Lucky.

Imagine: I saw this in the theater as a kid.  Bored out of my mind then---we actually left the movie before it was over.  I bet I'd like it today.

 A nude geisha bathhouse scene would complete the movie. Great hexagon space ships & sound effects it has. They fly inside the baddies fortress & blow up the core, hmm, a bit like... What was that movie? Star wars, yah now I remember.

Actually, this was made after "Star Wars" but before "Return of the Jedi."  Them flying inside of the enemy fortress to blast the reactor was a change that Lucas also used in the "Return of the Jedi."

 Maryam D Abo doing a lightsaber-pole dance would have pushed this film up a few notches.
