Vegitarian community kid kills rabbit with bow & arrow for meat?

In the late eighties/ early 90s I saw a couple of minutes of a film on a cable channel so my memory isnt that good.
It was live action not cartoon, it was in color.

I think it was a colony/tribe in a postacopolyptic world / another planet.

Everyone was vegitarians but one kid maby 10 years old hunted a rabbit down with bow and arrow to eat in front of a fire.

The kid was abandoned from the village by the elders

There was something called moon children deformed children witch lurked around in the night.

I think the movie was called moon children or something if i recall correct.

Maby my mind plays prank on me but the thing that is most important is killing rabbit with bow and arrow.

I have only seen the 1996 remake of Island of Dr Moreau, and in this film it also contains killing of a rabbit and freaks.

Could you be thinking of Agustin Villaronga's Moon Child (1989). It's been a long time since I've seen it but there is a sequence in Africa and it involves "mythical" children.
