That's right kids, The Tomb of Anubis manages to return yet again, this time with two new reviews and a scheduling change announcement. First, the most important part: the reviews.

Ragnarok teaches Ned Beatty what it means to be the target of Rolling Vengeance!

Dodging Grunge
meets his new favorite movie in John Michael McCarthy's post-apocalyptic pin-up party, Superstarlet A.D.!

As for the scheduling thing, because of a change in my personal schedule we'll no longer be doing the Sunday update. Instead, we're giving you something to look forward to on the sh!tstorm that is Monday as we move the weekly "big update" to it's new home. We're also bringing back the Wednesday update of Shorties and archive reviews to get you through "hump day" and sending you off into your weekend with the return of "Broke-Ass Budget Disc Fridays". As long time supporters will note we never guarantee we can actually stick with any schedule, so this could all change in a week's time. But, for now, we're hoping to give everybody a chance to look forward to three regular updates a week once more, here at The Tomb of Anubis!... note the blatant inclusion of the link twice...  Wink

Glad to see someone finally reviewing a John Michael McCarthy movie.   I enjoyed TEENAGE TUPELO (kind of a scattershot surrealist tribute to classic exploitation films, trash culture and rockabilly) and have been meaning to check out some of his other movies based on the insane plot descriptions.  Never understood why JMM didn't get more of a foothold in the cult movie underground.

Thanks for watching Reverend! Yeah, it's a shame that JMM hasn't received more recognition from the bad movie community. His shoestring budgets are outweighed by his crazy storylines and love of old skool cool like pin-up girls and hot rods. Probably the biggest reason he's always overlooked is because most people don't take the release companies that put out his stuff seriously. I can only imagine the number of people that have picked up a copy of Superstarlet A.D. and put it down once they saw the Troma banner on it. And the only release of Sore Losers I've ever seen on a store shelf was packed into one of those throw away 4 movie features, this one called "Hotter Than Hell" and featuring 3 absolutely worthless other features in The Strangers and two of the later installments of the Witchcraft series... It'd be nice if a reputable b-movie release company like Synapse or even Anchor Bay could put out a boxed set and give the guy the exposure he deserves.  Thumbup

The reason I first discovered him is because TEENAGE TUPELO was released by Something Weird as their first original feature.  Now, it's not even listed on their website.  SUPERSTARLET A.D. is the only one that's widely available, thanks to Troma.  I'm guilty of not following up on his career, but I did just put SUPERSTAR in my Netflix qeue.  He definitely hasn't been able to market his stuff well, for whatever reason,  but I hope he'll be (re)discovered at some point.
