"1982? " you're thinking "weren't we well into breakdancing by then?" haha this an Indian movie, the bollywood if you will. Cut them some slack, news didn't travel quite so fast back then. This movie has a cult following for it's colorful if ridiculous dance sequences of which there are many, at least an hours worth. Realism is not the order of the day in any way shape or form. The guitars aren't plugged in and half the time there isn't even guitar in the song. The same goes for the plot: it's "great expectations" "romeo and Juliet" and a little bit of a few others. Indians seem to have much more faith in mankind than we do. the bad guy is on top for about 5 seconds and is almost imediately dethroned by the humble guy. for the rest of the movie nothing goes at all well for the bad guy, even simple things like holding his glass are doomed because of his bad karma. So the lesson is be nice for 5 seconds and rich rewards will come your way. If you have an extra 2 hours and 15 minutes to kill...you could watch half of this. No i'm kidding you could watch all of it.
Also, according to the lyrics of one of the songs disco stands for "Dance item Sing Chorus Orchestra"
something like that
