I know where my towel is.

I have been playing with this idea for a while.  The general idea is monologues at present, because I can work on them like anything else for the site:  in the middle of the night.  The goal would be a 10 minute running time and I am uncertain on how often new ones would be created, probably every 2 weeks.  If I go ahead, the mp3 files would be streamed from the server.

This is part of one "show" - the test run:

Are you going to do interviews as well...or is it to early to say?

I think that this would be a great idea in terms of interviews and the such.

Maybe there could be video reviews of certain titles at some point as well.

Interviews would be possible in the future.  I just prefer email because I often do my work late at night.

Video reviews for movies are coming.  I'm hoping to have those started in January.  I really need a small hands-free mic for the video camera.

Sounds like a great idea!

The only problem is that not a whole heckuva lot of people take the time to download and listen to them.
(as evidenced by my phone interview with George Hardy)
But then again, that was almost an hour long.
A 10 minute monologue is a lot easier to swallow than an hour long interview.

The longtime regulars here would most definitely check them out, but newer visitors might not be as likely to do so.

It may take time to build up an audience for these MP3 monologues but I'm sure they'll take off after they've been around for a while.

Andrew,

Love the idea man.  I'm a huge fan of podcasts, even those that Nate did over at coldfusionvideo.com.  :)

I just really love this kind of thing.  I have about 10 podcast subscriptions on Itunes that I keep up on.  Hope to add a badmovies.org one to that list!

This is the Beta, probably just about final, version of the first broadcast (in its entirety).  I figure that I can put it out for the forum regulars and see if the idea and my execution has merit.  Thanks for the feedback thus far.

Perhaps some day we can post audio feedback.

I'm trying to keep my voice in a friendly tone.  It's something I've been working on lately, overall.  People ask me if I am angry at them, because of how I sound.  Another issue is that my current microphone, while adequate, doesn't do well if I change my volume/pitch dramatically.  If this becomes a regular addition to the site I will look for an upgrade.

Wow, this is going to be a good feature for this website.  Thumbup

You have a very good radio voice. It reminds me of the guy who use (or still does) to do the morning traffic reports for WABC in New York. This sounds like another winner. Looking forward to the video reviews.

I'm imagining movie reviews with video replies, questions, and comments from badmovie.org members.  TeddyR This is going to be good.

Sorry, I haven't been on the board recently I might be at the crossroads of my movie viewing days. Still looking forward to seeing what Andrew has in store for the webpage.

I actually just received some new gear, in hopes of improving the sound quality.  I was using a regular dynamic mic and no mixer, plus no pop screen.  With a condenser mic, mixer, and pop screen I hope to get a better sound so I don't have to carefully control my volume and tone.

Yep, Windows Media Movie Maker certainly has it's limits and I'm looking for some better movie making things. A sound recorder would be great along with a good mic, better editing software, not to mention a good digital camera.  Smile

Guess I could use just about new everything.  BounceGiggle

Would like to do something much better and more creative myself. Right now I'm just experimenting.

With more people doing video online I think this website can really go over the top with some original productions and all out original homemade bad movie filmmmaking.  Thumbup
