So are any of Russ Meyer's films available on Region 1 DVD besides "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls?" I know there's some Region 0/2 stuff out there...

I bought the "Bosomania" boxed set a couple of years ago.  Not sure if it's still in print, but it contains:

* VIXEN
* SUPER VIXENS
* BENEATH THE VALLEY OF THE ULTRA VIXENS

Meyer has all control over his films and is very tight with them. In fact,the only one I've seen all the way through is BEYOND the VALLY of the DOLLS...though FASTER p***yCAT,KILL,KILL was on TCM awhile back....I woke in the dead of night and caught the ending...

You can also find some of his on the Movies Unlimited website, like my favorite "Faster, p***ycat!  Kill!  Kill!"

However, if you check the Russ Meyer website, that is your best choice.  They tend to run specials where you buy 2 or 3 and get 1 free:

Even from beyond the grave? Just kidding but it tok me a second to remember that Meyer has died.

BTW, has anyone bought or read his mammoth memoirs? I think I remember reading they were eventually self-published and sold through his website.

One of the coolest things about Meyer was how he got his start:
A WW2 combat veteran, ready to storm another beach in the Pacific, he was handed a sealed 16mm camera, with fixed light & focus, to carry with him on the next landing & shoot the troops.  "You've got to be kidding" was his understandable reaction.  He was persuaded to do so anyway, and he found he liked it.  He fought in many campaigns -- among them I believe Tarawa & other very bloody conflicts.
At war's end, he found additional US Marine-issue sealed 16mm cameras & started his career.
I met him in 1973 in Williamsburg, Va., at a conference on porn.  He was showing "Vixens 3-D".
Very protective -- some say overly so -- of his output and his ouvre, but he had seen many of his friends ripped off by the film industry in Hollywood.
I also -- by accident -- appear opposite him in Issue #16 of Film Threat Magazine.  I'm talking about "Kill Line".
